Wow, that was a nice trip, but where did the time go? I know there was a lot of sweet gear I missed, and I surely didn't get to know folks a well as I'd have liked, but the time did fly by. The rain was nice even though my old rain jacket failed me and I had to break out a $0.99 emergency poncho Tuesday evening. Good sleep that night with the rain. Good sleep both nights actually.

Everyone seemed to enjoy the liver mush feast on Wednesday morning (where was Hooch?), and I'm glad they did. Liver Mush is nothing to be afraid of! After lunch I had a walk downstream with Mtncamper and Jason. Jason is now known as Nooner due to his sleeping habits. We went south for about an hour in the direction of Pinchin and entered some new territory for me. There are some nice woods down there, and a couple of good water sources. It was kind of late when we started, so we turned back in time to make it to camp at about 5pm. I really enjoyed that little hike guys.

Shug did a cooking and stove demo around the fire that night. (that means we all watched Shug cook his supper on his J Falk wood burner) Everyone enjoyed Jerry's chair. I think it will be a hit with the DIY crowd. Around 9:30 I felt the hammock calling me and crawled in for some nice sleep. It was another nice night to sleep to the sound of the Linville river flowing by.
Here's a photo I really like. I don't remember what was said, but look at the smiles!

Thursday morning was a busy time for most. There was breakfast to make, more talk by the river and of course packing up and goodbyes. It ended far too soon. Hawk-Eye and I moved slowly up the trail, feeling like a couple of peddlers with a frying pan and other extra items fastened to the back of our packs. We took our time and stopped often to talk on the way up the river and up Spence. There were some awesome views along the river, but unfortunately the camera that will capture them fully has not been invented.

I enjoyed meeting all of you who made this trip. I only wish there had been more time. Hopefully we'll do it again sometime. Linville is full of rugged beauty, and we only experienced one little bit of it. Thank you all for you contributions. This forum and it's people are gems of the net!

We're just glad you enjoyed it Shug. It was great to finally meet you and everyone else. I bet I could get Hawk-Eye to help "tote mush" again if they'd just straight out the Linville Gorge trail a bit!!

Sounds like you're making a habit of night hiking! Just don't get yourself in a "fix" like our friend "Sleeps in Trail" Underwood!

It was great to see you this weekend Tim!

Not sure what happened pal ... I arrived there just about five pm and hung around till about 5:35 ... figured you must have gotten there before me!
    Man I really hate that.

It must have been before 5 when I left then. And when I did, I went in the direction of the Parkway & had to turn around. It had been a while since I had been to Table Rock that way.
I must have passed you on the road or you may have been at the diner when I came back by.
I hate that but we need to get back out there as soon as possible.
I too will something make and joy in it's making

Man ... so close ... my fault ... I kept slowing us down coming up the trail this trip. Then add that to the distance from Spence around to Louise's ... I figured I'd just taken too much time to meet up with you.

Definitely need to go back and do another hang this winter!

Great works Hawk-Eye, Ken, and Ongs-Hat. I need to get on the ball with presentation.
