    Smokey Mountain Overnight Hammock hang

    What would be nice scenic overnight hammock hang in smokey mountains, nearer to the west side of smokies (closer to Knoxville)? Please include details

    Cades Cove [SW beyond Gatlinburg] is phenomenal... there ought to still be reasonable color down in the Cove floor, and there are a number of trails that lead up to the Smokies crest.
    You could also go into Big Creek Campground [USNPS], which is right off of I-40 at the extreme eastern end of the park, and just day hike up the AT a ways… Much closer to Knoxville.
    You would want to check with the Park service about any regulations that apply to hammocks.

    Or are you talking about the NC Blue Ridge in general rather than the park?

    How is Big Creek Campground HIke, is that part of AT, or part of National or State forest? Great views?

    It is a part of the SMNP... I don't remember whether the HT comes down to the campground itself, Or Whether it's further up the road. ANY of the hikes in Smoky Park are really worthwhile. Just find at online guide, and pick something out.
