You can sometimes reduce the calf-ridge by planting your rear in the hammock and using your hands and feet to "sweep" or "push" the center ridge out to the edges of the hammock.

i put a pillow or a jacket under my knees. The head end is lower than the foot end by the stretched out distance from my thumb tip to pinky tip ( about 8 inches). As many have said 30 degrees on the suspension which can be estimated by just standing back and looking at the suspension and the hammock body if it is 30 degrees it will look like a straight line. From the pic you provided the suspension is a bit tight. Another way to test the hang is to lay down and check the ridge line tension, You should be able the twist it to at least 45 degrees with the index finger and thumb if the ridge line is guitar tight it is an indication that the system it too tight ie not at 30 degrees. If the system is too tight not only is it a less than optimal lay it is also more stress on the system. Yet another way of estimating 30 degrees is to point you index finger parallel to the floor then stick your thumb straight up, draw a line from your finger tip to the tip of your thumb that is about 30 degrees. Hope that helps.
