Besides ordering a Woodsman X (£95.00) from UKhammocks I asked Mat to do some custom work on his three season (up to -7 C) partial underquilt. Although he already closed his order books, because he is going on another expedition, he was willing to take my order and instead of shipping my hammock (which was just about finished) seperately, ship everything in one go. This would save me some money.

I asked him to make his 3 season partial uq into a full length up to 190cm and use black fabric (the hammock is black as well). He ordered me some Pertex Quantum4 in black and has his seemstress making the under quilt (he is now on an expedition).

So I now ordered that as well :-).

The under quilt is costing me a load of money (£179.50), but I am sure I will happy with it and it seems they will be shipping everything to me this tuesday! Just in time for my bushcraft three day hang coming weekend.

I can't wait for both the Woodsman X and my new custom under quilt to get here. I am a bit nervous about it (always having buyers remorse).

Thanks 2ply. I am starting to get hooked. This will be hammock number three and my first real uq :-D. I am very excited! Giddy like a little schoolgirl hahaha.

I used a pad for many a year but once the switch to an UQ was made........there's just no going back after being wrapped in down goodness.
