Another Costco Down Throw TOP QUILT Report

I took the throws and made TQ's by folding the sides in at the foot and sewing the bottom closed and the folded in sides up about 24" to make the foot box.
James River VA. night temps about 48deg, with slight 3-5 mph breeze.
HH Explorer, climasheild 7 full length UQ.
long john bottoms, sweat pants, cotton socks, long john top, hoody, knit cap and 1 Costco TQ

I woke middle of the night slightly cold from the top, grabbed a 2nd Costco TQ (layers 2) and was totally snug the rest of the night.
My 13 Y.O. son was in a HH expedition with a climashield 3.6 3/4 length UQ and 1 Costco TQ and slpet through, said he was warm.

for me a single Costco TQ will get me to low 50's

So it makes a summer quilt. For reference, my summer quilt set from Wilderness Logistics is good for me down to 48*, naked. Adding a fleece liner and a layer of clothes has been OK to low 40s, but only just. Haven't had to get out the reflectix yet, but maybe this weekend

I have one of those throws, its stock right now, but my plan is a summer top quilt. I'm a little dismayed you say you got to 48 degrees with the TQ plus long johns, a hoodie, and you had to add a 2nd throw? I'm a cold sleeper, so I'm inclined to respect your report as applicable to me. What temp do you think you'd be at wig just the TQ, a t-shirt and sleeping shorts? That's a summer sleep situation for me.

When the 3-5 mph breeze hit (and it was a slight breeze)I got a slight chill from the top. But remember a 48 deg breeze is cold, a65 deg breeze is not.
I would say shorts and tee shirt - 60 deg is all I am getting out of it. add sweat pants and hoody and I am at 55 deg.
