Where did I see this?

That would seem to imply living outdoors full-time. Sounds like fun in my opinion, but could turn out to be very expensive, unless you have someone to dehydrate and mail food to you. I've considered having my mom do my food prep at home, and mail it, as well as buying other essentials in bulk, then repackaging and mailing them. The question being, with all of those mail drops, and travel size packaging, do you really save any money this way as opposed to buying along your route?
never having done a hike that requires food drops I couldn;t say- but I have seen plenty of "Planning your thru-hike" journals and such.. valuable experience to be gained there. Hope that helps some, KM
