Dont want to get too excited with this being a week away, but this is what the Canadian model thinks will be happening next Friday...this would dump 12"+ on Batona

Which Canadian model, and what does she know about weather?

Is there a physical address or GPS coordinates? Been there before but coming from a different direction.

Carranza Memorial is right across from the turnoff.

That's the way it used to be... but I think he mentioned last year that we wouldn't be able to do that anymore.

Yep, haven't heard from Karl so I'm not going to volunteer him to do the same thing this year. There is a way to alter the reservation to specify "occupant" and perhaps if we all specify the same person, said person could in fact make the pickup.

The Batsto Office knows the deal and knows we are all camping there that weekend. I really don't anticipate any issues with paperwork. Worst case is everyone emails their reservation to someone and we print them all out.

I suspect there's a joke here that's just too subtle for us mere mortals to figure out. I've heard of the European model and the American model, but never heard anything about a Canadian model.

Let's hope the Canadian model is accurate, 'cause the other models don't see much chance of precipitation!

No joke, it's the GEM model. Global Enviromenal Multiscale Model, developed by the Canadian Meteorological Centre. It's the only one showing a solution of a storm that impacts our area though, the other 4 major models show it out to sea...so don't get your hopes too high yet.

Let's hope the other models get in line with the Canadian model!

I'm all for a snowy hang, I just want to be sure it isn't going to hinder my travel up to the pines from Washington DC.

They plow the roads pretty good up to the last 1/2 mile.

Worst case - you park the car at Carranza Memorial and walk the last 1/2 mile.
