I have a dream...
to hike the AT!!
Seeing as how I have 3 young kids (youngest is 3), it'll probably be another 15 years before I can commit to the 4+ month commitment.
UNTIL then, my aim is to start backpacking in short spurts wherever I get the chance here in Michigan. I sure miss my Tennessee mountains!
I've decided to pursue a hammock instead of a tent for several good reasons, but one big one being that I need to sleep on an incline to prevent occasional vertigo. I couldn't figure out how to do this well in a tent. A hammock seems like a good solution! After looking into hammock camping I started to realize that there could be even more benefits to it. SO, I'm really excited to try it out. For now I'm saving up to buy it all and trying to do as much research as I can before I take the plunge. I'm having a hard time knowing what hammock would suit me best, so I'm thankful that I could find the hammock forums to glean wisdom from you experienced hammock campers!
A big thanks to Shug for his informative YouTube videos and for the tip to check out these forums! I've watched quite a few of your clips and really enjoyed them! My kids have too! You're a delight Shug!
