    Oo, Oo, a Pickin' Hammock!!!

Slowhike- what a concept!! My HH's ridge line hits me in the neck when I sit up in it, so a pickin' hammock is a definite solution. Maybe with a pocket for extra picks and strings; another pocket for a cool libation; and ...........

I'm still working on earning sufficient DT points to attend, but it's looking better.

yeah, right now i'm liking a ridge line that's permanently attached at the foot end, but i have to tie it to the tree at the head. that keeps it high enough to be out of the way.
keep workin on those points<g>. ..tim

Just curious as to what everyone does during the day. I realize there is a Bluegrass festival going on but that is usually better at night. Anyone up for a hike on the AT.

Some do go for day hikes - some just pick each other's brains for ways to improve their set-up and inspect everyone else's set-up. Ewker, I can honestly say I have never gotten bored at a SEHHA function (unlike TD)

There is a lot of gear talk, not just about hammocks, but there were a lot of stoves, packs, pads, etc. I like talking gear.

I didn't hike at the last SEHHA, mainly because I got there late on Saturday but some people got a hike in. I normally do try to hike a few miles whenever I am in Hot Springs.

we always spend a little time in the outfitter... wandering around, looking & talking. we usually stop as we're walking back from the dinner.
if you've got a few extra bucks & fell so inclined, there's always the hot springs to soak in.
i've never felt board. i'm usually content to sit around & talk... or just listen to the others talk.

Yeah the one I was at last fall was a lot of fun. I only walked as far as the dinner. Like slowhike, I was not board all weekend. I thought at first about doing a hike, but never got around to it.
