If I go, I will show you. They were not far from the bridge, one was just upstream, looked like a nice mid stream stepping stone for entry & exit. I will admit they were just opinions, I didn't really measure it out, but they LOOKED good.

Can anyone plot for me where the Wise shelter is on a topo map. According to one source, its says that the shelter is at Latitude 36.6540027°N & Longitude -81.4984093°W. When I go to those coordinates on my Delorme topos, it doesn't look right. That puts the shelter south of the road. Are these coordinates wrong maybe? Need some help.

    I'm seriously bummin...

Because of a stupid scheduling move at school, I now (and yes, just now announced) I have a class on the NIGHT of Jan 29th. My first reaction was to just skip, but I also have a scheduled class on Monday, Feb 1.
On Monday, I now have a take home test due, not 1 but 2 final exams AND an oral presentation!

So, enough whining. It seems at this time, I must remove myself from this trip. I will continue to look for loopholes, but I'm not terribly confident.

I will miss seeing all my friends again.

Can you volunteer to take the test(s) in advance?

Yes, bring a filter, or at least some kind of treatment. Plenty of water, as Mac says, stream nearby and about the same distance in the other direction is a small spring. Also plenty of ponies in the area, & ponies don't care where they, um,,, "Unload"

OR, it's just (about) 1.5 miles back to the parking lot, but water in the car may be frozen.
