I'm planning on coming with some Dutch apple pie. I will be there presumably from Friday night to Sunday morning.

I hesitate to jinx myself by saying I will be there, but...
I'll be there!

Last year I drove up (a long drive from SC) a day early and spent the night in a motel about 50 miles away so I could get there mid-day on Friday. I found an excellent hang site with a forest of rhododendrons on my downhill flank to break the hurricane coming up the mountain, and close enough to the shelter that I could come and go to the festivities with relative ease (I have Yak Trax for next time to make the relative ease even easier), yet far enough away that there was peace, quiet, and comfort. Single digit temps was a treat, ice and snow was entertaining, the fellowship was rewarding, and Thorwren's stew was to die for. Would it be sinfully greedy to ask for a repeat? I'll be there. Any aversions to beef jerky?

Well, as a recent newbie to the forum, I am looking forward to this event. I am unsure of at this moment if scheduling will allow me to make it but I am "penciling" this event on the calendar. I may have a few other recent "converts" with me as well. Not sure where this particular parking area is but I will assume this info will get handed out a little later. Guess I need to think of something tasty to bring . . . anybody ever had muskrat ?
. . . . hence the trail name . . . .
I'll be there with at least one pulk sled!

Does anyone from last years hang have pics or video they could post here. I'd love to see 'em!
Also, this hang isn't posted on the HF "calender" yet.
Here is the trip report.

PAIN is INEVITABLE. MISERY is OPTIONAL.
I was thinking about hiking in from Elk Garden on the horse trail. I hate to miss a good chance to traverse a bald and freeze my feet. Anyone else interested in a bit longer hike in?

Baring any odd incidents, I'll be there.
First time camping with the possibility of snow. Sounds like the perfect excuse to buy a new quilt and some new wool.
