20* set to warm for starter 3 season?

    Hello all,

I'm having trouble convincing myself which rating TQ I should get. I'm pretty set on getting a 20* UQ for the versatility and I have a pad I can pair it with to get a few degrees lower. Most of my camping right now will consist of a low of 20* and up. I know I can vent the UQ during the days its well above 20* and still make it work. Is it pretty much the same for the TQ? This will be my first TQ and it will be used for a while before I can purchase another one. Money isn't a huge issue because I'm using funds from a 2nd job that is pure spending money for me. I really like the way the loco libre gear looks. Sleeping wise I do not think I am a cold or warm sleeper. If I had to pick one I am slightly a warm sleeper but I think I'm pretty neutral. Would a 20* set be good 3-season? On those really warm trips take just the UQ and leave the TQ at home? Thanks for any input. I know this is a pretty "user specific" topic.

20* partial length is what I started with, I now have a full compliment of summer/3 season/winter quilts but the 20* set is what I take out the vast majority of the time.

For your temps that you want to be out in, go with the 20* set. The UQ will be 100% fine till its to warm out for anything under you. The TQ you can just vent accordingly as temps rise or opt for a blanket as night time lows exceed 60 plus.
Is a great place to start for one set, then fine tune with other quilts as you can afford and see fit for you.
I use a 15* down SB from 15-50* without issue then switch to my 40*TQ from 50* and up. The 20* UQ stays in place till nothing is required under me.
Remember Down does have a ability to self regulate temps giving it a wide comfort temp range of use before needing to vent.

I agree with prior posts. 20 degrees is the most versatile.
