Talking I just love seeing boxes

I did get some good news today! Sitting there on my desk when I came around the corner was one of my most favorite of things; a Priority Mail box. Oooooo, what could it be? The Switchback, that's what.

I can't believe I've got a brand new hammock and won't be able to sleep in it tonight; maybe tomorrow. But, I had to take it out and get a look. I got the 1.9 single layer. In the Bishop Bag (yes, it's a true Bishop Bag not a double-ended bag) with the rings attached, the weight came in at 26.4 ounces. The included webbing adds another 4.2 ounces. Construction appears to be top notch and the zipper looks to be about as bombproof as they come; very heavy duty and smooth. Hard to get a good idea about a hammock when it's spread out on the living room floor instead of hanging between two trees, but I couldn't just let it sit in its box could I?

I'm excited and had to post something. I'll have more info for you folks tomorrow evening once I've had a chance to lounge in it, but if it feels as good as it looks I'll be a very happy Cannibal.

Thanks to the fellas at Tree to Tree Trail Gear! I'd like to be the first to make a motion that a new sub-forum is created. I suspect there will be use for such a thing in the near future.

Oh yeah, all you camo junkies will be pleased to hear that the Bishop Bag is a lovely Woodland Camo.

Pictures will follow as soon as there is daylight again; stupid time change!

Yay!! It's about time someone started making real Bishop Bags, instead of the useless double ended imposters...

    Looking forward to your review.

    Okay. I give up.

I kept expecting to see an explanation someplace, but so far, nada...what's a bishop bag?

Bishop Bag is a normal stuff sack with a small hole in the bottom for the suspension lines to pass thru. Makes for an easy ID of which end is which before taking the hammock out.

Gotcha...pretty close to what I was thinking.

Should this be in the Hammock Glossary?

    Hey Cannibal,

    Congrats on you latest acquisition.
The fabric to make mine is now in and work should soon begin if it hasn't already.

Looking forward to giving it a go.

Please share your impression once you do get a chance to get it all setup.

    Cheers,
    Darrel

Boxes, bags and envelopes = that wonderful feeling of prosperity.

I got an envelope from PGibson at Arrowhead Equipment. My new stealthy whoopie slings are not as spendy as a new Switchback, but I get excited over all sizes of deliveries.

I will gladly second this motion.
