I'm not too far away, up in the Missouri Ozarks. Used to live close to you, but I only get to Fayetteville about once a year these days. I'm way behind on trips I've promised to take with folks. I only know of two other hammock owners in my area, so I know how you feel. There's plenty of outdoorsy folks around your neck of the woods. Get another hammock and it'll be easier to find another hammocker to go along.

Thanks, I have already asked my wife to make a few extra just for the people that I bring along with me. We mainly do the Butterfield Trail in Devil's Den State Park, but thats only because its a 15 mile loop trail. If you ever get down here again, let me know so we can set something up.

Preacha man, I'm sorry to say that I'm having trouble looking at your avatar without becoming more than a little bit agitated and alarmed. What is going on in this picture? Can you tell me what it's significance to you is?

hahaha, I just like finding wierd pictures on the net, this one always grabbed me because this poor boy reminded me of my neighbors shi-tzu's. I had one of myself at first but it was scarier.

    Hello preacha,
I'm new to this too, I recently finished what I'd call my first decent diy hamock. In the past I've made some with limited success, and dropped it for a time. Then a couple of months ago I stumbled across just jeff's page, did some more experimenting and now have new hope. I'm in conway. I may be going to the rainbow gathering in the first week of july.

I don't have a car so lond distance trips are limited for me. I haven't done any camping in years, but want to get back in to it. Part of the problem has been not wanting to go alone, and not having anyone to go with. Though there's a guy where I work now feeling the same way. Anyway my name is Jeff Pugh

I am planning a hike right now to do the first quarter of the quachita national trail from Tallemena,Ok to Queen Wilehena State Park. I do not know the date yet, but it will be for an entire week.

I grew up in Missouri, and used to float the Jack's Fork river as a kid. Good memories...
