Is there anyone close to Northwest Arkansas?

I'm kinda new to this, but is there anyone close to Northwest Arkansas where we can plan a trip? I was thinking either the Buffalo River, or Devil's Den. As far as I know there are few hammock hangers here, but the more I'm out hiking the more people love my hammock.

I may be one of the closer ones in North Texas. As far as getting together, that depends on timing. Also, it's fixin to (I'm becoming more and more Texan ) get rather warm here pretty soon. Maybe we can put something together for the fall.
    Peace,
    Joe

Sounds good to me. There are plenty of areas to get together, and if fall is the case we could try to get a good sized group of us as well. Maybe Lake Texhoma?

That's pretty funny. I was just at Juniper Point this past weekend with the scouts. It's a great place to camp, but they've instituted a new rule that limits 2 tents per site. Might be a bit restrictive unless we hike back to one of the more primative sites.
    Peace,
    Joe

We could call ourselves The NTARHA. The North Texas/Arkansas Hangers Association. What do ya think?

Sounds good to me, 13 years ago when I was there the rangers made my scout troop pick up trash on the shore because we had so many tents. I never mind hiking anywhere either. sounds great

There's a primative site about a mile in on the Cross Timbers Trail, half way between the marina and Juniper Point. When I say primative, all it has are trees and a campfire ring. We can get water out of the lake, but you know what that's like!! And no privvy. Plenty of trees tho!!!!
    Peace,
    Joe

That would be good, is the water clear enough to use a steripen on, or would chemicals be better? All in all sounds great, wonder how many more people we could get to go?

It was pretty muddy last weekend with all the rain we've had. Maybe in the fall it will be better. On the other hand, if everybody carried in a couple of liters, we could prolly get by. And it's less than a mile back to the point.
    Peace,
    Joe

Thanks, we'll be fine no matter what, and I think it will be an awesome time.
