    Tarp with doors question

Set up my winter haven today. Staked down and installed 3 interior poles. Had to keep bringing the sides in so the doors would shut. Does everyone button the doors before staking so you know they will close? The poles are a little tricky to install but are very nice.

My tarp came with 3. I’m given to understand you either use 2 of the poles on the sides, or just the 1 in the center, but not all 3.

I don’t close the doors first before staking since I adjust the lines throughout the day for “porch mode.” I use the Dutchware fleas though.

What kinds of tarp did you get, UGQ?

I have mine buttoned up to gauge how far I need to stake it down. I don’t want to put too much stress on it and risk stretching something.

I swap between either the center pole or two end poles, but not all three at the same time ... it’s not really needed. Center pole for space during the summer, two end poles for winter (snow).

Winter Haven 13 foot. I tried it with all 3 poles, maybe that was my problem.

Now this isn't a tarp with two doors, but you can see how he closed the door and stakes down one side before installing poles. Looks like the way to do it.

There's little chance you'll get it buttoned up after doing everything else first since the poles can vary the shape. That's going to vary each time unless you're very good, or lucky. Just stake out loosely, button doors, then put the poles in. Then tighten everything down making adjustments as necessary. Watch the shape of the poles; you want to form with the tarp opposed to making a sharp narrow arch.

Here are some shots with all 3 poles installed, touching all of the tarp nicely from side to side. Doors closed I never really do this because of condensation. Maybe one side closed, one open like the first pic. Easier to exit then anyway.

Inside of your tarp reminds me of those inflatable soccer domes.

Thanks for the pics and explanation. I will have to play with it a bit.
