I just want to comment that the double whoopie hooks work great to hang two hammocks from the same two trees. My wife and I used that as our setup at the fall MAHHA with great results.

I have and it didn't work well for sleeping. If you have it a bother there is a much greater seesaw effect. It you only have it at the foot, your bodies will be bumping all night.

Are the tips glued in? Are (can) the poles shock corded together?

I use epoxy for now but hope to have them pressed in. They can't be easily shock corded in. I am working on ones for tarp pole mods next and they can be shock corded.

I read the thread where Dutch introduced the double whoopie hooks and didn't see it mentioned, but has anyone used the bars on the head and foot ends at the same time?
