    RidgeRunner underquilt + inflatable

Hi all, I have a question for those "in the know". I've had a Warbonnet RidgeRunner for two years now and have decided to try some colder camping. The full-lenth 20 degree Lynx underquilt and 20 degree Mamba have been great, but the hammock is most comfortable (for me) with an Exped UL7 in the double layer (no underquilt). Today I installed both the UL7 and Lynx underquilt, and then wrapped my Mamba with my 25 degree Jacks R Better Sierra Sniveler.....very toasty in the basement when enclosed in the Spindrift Sock.

Hopefully this setup will prove to be good down to 0º when it matters (though pretty heavy), but adding the Lynx underneath the UL7 didn't feel much warmer while in the house. So, my question is...should I order a 0 degree Lynx? My feeling is that layers are a good idea while I learn, but it's a lot of volume and weight when combined. Might not matter on a sled.

I'd love to hear opinions from the experienced. Thanks.

I would suspect a 20 degree quilt and insulated pad along with the spindrift would get you down to very low temps with appropriate clothing. If your always going to be using a pad I would suggest trying your current setup in your yard to see how low you can go before ordering a new quilt. I have been below zero with a 0 degree ambush quilt ,pad and spindrift. A good 20 degree may have got me their as well idk but I would experiment to find out before dropping more coin imo.

Let us know howhat this works. I've considered a UQ and pad combo for lower temps but haven't had a chance to test it yet either.

I have used a WBRR with both a pad and UQ with the spindrift for about 2 years and I love it in cold, windy temps! Super warm and comfy!!

I think that current combo will get you to 0º. Eat well and have hot drinks and don't crawl in the hammock cold.
    Carry forth.
