Donations from the Fall MAHHA raffle

I am a couple weeks late posting this but I have the list of the charities and organizations that the money raised from the Fall Mahha went to. First let me thank EVERYONE who contributed in every way. From the vendors, to the park and Friends of Pine Grove Furnace, to the individuals that contributed in big and small ways to make it another successful hang. There were people cooking, cleaning and bringing in plenty of food. It truly is a great community that I am happy to be a part of.

Vendor contributions are a big part of how we finance the food, wood and park sites. Also is the people who bring their dollars to to buy raffle tickets. Here is a list a list of some of the Vendors that graciously contributed, I am hoping I am no missing anyone...

    In no particular order...
    Jacks R Better
    Loco Libre
    Hennessy Hammock
    ENO
    Dutchware
    Wilderness Logics
    Vargo
    2QZQ
    Sheltowee
    hammeck
    Tato Gear
    Gogrillz

We raised $2800 minus $1000 in expenses. So we were able to donate $1800 to charities and organizations. Here is the list.

    Friends of Pine Grove Furnace-$500
    Appalachian Trail Conference-$500
    Hammock Forums-$500
2 local Boy Scout Troops- $300

Thank you Dutch and all of the vendors. MAHHA (both fall and spring) are such well run events. It's really awesome how we all have such a good time and also support good organizations.

it's really great to see money raised going to good causes. I'm hoping to make the spring MAHHA this year.

Thanks to all the Vendors who donated !! We are still making good use of the gear won at previous raffles, especially some of that downy goodness!

We stayed an extra day (Monday) in the group area and had a chance to meet Bill, President of the Friends of Pine Grove Furnace. He wanted to check on the wood situation, see if we had enough, how the event went and how folks made out in the storm. Apparently it was a "seek shelter" warning that was put out. He also mentioned that Mark from the Friends group was the one who cut up the Dutch Elm with his crew. We talked about the park upgrades they have been able to make recently, including some playgrounds for the kids.

They are good folks, when we were leaving we saw them working on the handicapped ramp to the AT Museum. Glad we donate to them and very much appreciate their efforts.

We truley have one great bunch of people in our comunnity and i'm proud to be a part of it, it also feels nice to know that we can contribute to a couple of great cause's like the friends of pine grove and the others mentioned.
Cannot wait to do it again.
While talking with Dutch at the Mahha i found out that this fall hang was the 16th group hang for the Mahha and i am hoping for atleast another 16 to come.
Another note - Dutch has been at every one of the 16 past Mahha hangs.
Has anyone else been to all of the past Mahha hangs??

Good on ye' all. I found that scout troops need gear for kids that cannot afford backpacking essentials. Some families can barley aford to yearly scout dues.
I'd love to thank my folks as I took it for granted as a kid in scouts.

There is some great pleasure in giving to organizations you believe in and care about. The money was raised by many people but it is still gratifying to send it. I hope all involved feel it too.

Life. You're doing it right, Dutch.

And not just you, but all of those involved like you said. You all seem like genuinely good hearted people, and it's great to see that still exist in today's society.
