I started hanging this last summer and I recently switched to whoopies from my adjustable webbing system on my WBBB XLC even though I was told by multiple people it was a mistake. I wanted to switch due to having to deal with pitch on my straps and getting tired of trying to bag the straps and store them in with my hammock... With the whoopies, my tree straps are separate so I roll them and store them in their own bag so no worries about pitch on my hammock! All of the advise came from people like myself that are a little on the pudgy side and have problems with their whoopies locking up after a nights sleep.... A lot of these folks said over 200lbs and forget about it! I run in the 230lb range and I have used the whoopies multiple times now ( including in the rain and I know they tighten up more from the lubrication the water gives them) and I have not had to much of a problem. Mostly just took some fidling with them to figure out the best way to loosen them up... I've found that if I take the weight off the whoopie then take the scrunch area of the whoopie and push the ends toward one another than they loosen right up... Also, make sure everything is loose and free before it's packed up cause it will just get harder over time to get them apart. I also think the water drips off the whoopies better so that's another bonus... Like others have said though, use whatever works best for yourself.
