New to website, not to hammock camping

I have been hammock camping for years, in the BWCA and on the Superior Hiking Trail. I'm a 60-year old woman. My go-to hammock is an older HH backpacker asym, with JRB underquilt and Enlightened Equipment top quilt. I bit the bullet and bought a cuben rainfly from Z packs. I make my own whoopee slings and tree straps. Almost (not quite) as light as tent camping but much more comfortable

I had no idea there were so many people interested in this subject until I stumbled on this site...

Welcome this a a great website all about hammock camping. It sounds like you hike some of the same trails that Shug has in his videos. If you haven't ever seen his videos they are great and full of useful information.

Yes, I've seen some of his videos. They're great. One thing I have never done is winter camping, though. He's braver than I am.

Welcome to the site! Winter camping is the best, most people are absent from the woods, and there are no bugs.

Welcome from the Jersey Shore. The thing I like about winter camping is that you can go places that might be heavily used in the summer, but they are absolutely desolate in the winter. You don't see any humans once the temps get down to 20* F or below. Most people just have no interest in dealing with cold temps, which means I get the forest to myself!
