    diy peapod plans?

I am interested in making a "diy peapod" --------any idea where I can get patterns/plans? Has any one ever done this?
FYI: If you want to know what type a certain bear is, sneak up behind it and kick it. Then,
run like crazy and climb up a tree. If the bear climbs the tree and eats you, it's a black
bear. If the bear just pushes the tree over and eats you, it's a grizzly bear : )

Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me, either, just leave me alone.

No, but if you are going to try DIY, you might want to see if you can figure out a way to give it a differential cut, especially on the lower half. It is mighty handy to be able to cinch the thing up tight against your back with out having to worry about also compressing the loft.

I did a mod to my mummy sleeping bag, it is working nicely. Here is some of the details. I have added elastic shock cords at both ends, hangs nice to bottom of hammock. I can leave it open or zip it up, weather permitting. Cheaper than a uq, but I will admit it is a bulky synthetic bag, so there is a trade-off. I like it , just wish it wasn't so bulky. A down bag would cut down the bulk.

How did you attach your shock cords, I have a mummy with the foot box and was going to use it.

I added grosgrain loops to the bag, two at the head end and two at the foot end.
Hang your hammock and slide on your bag and get a good placement.
I use the cinch cord on the hood to act as a seal.
Adjust your shockcord tension and length for a good fit.

For ease of entry, I twisted the bag so the zipper was facing up, which offset the hood. Offset like this is actually good, since I lay on the diagonal, it places the hood where my head is.
    Ambulo tua ambulo.

    peapod

I made one out of a Military patrol sleeping bag. I cut a hole in the bottom (footbox) of the bag and then sewed it up. Its still a work in progress but so far it seems like it will work. I will post pics tomorrow.
