Everyone is discussing the coverage of the HG Winter Palace and it's ability to stop spray by pitching it low to the ground. Does the coverage make the UQ protector a wasted purchase and or not worth carrying the slight weight? I was ready to purchase the protector but rethinking it due to the coverage of the Winter Palace which is a purchase that is in my future.

The HG Standard has served me well through several coastal storms. It is a very nice light-weight tarp for backpacking or kayaking.

When the WP is pitched low with the doors closed I see no way the hammock or quilts could possibly get wet.

HG standard has treated me very well. From windy Minnesota to the down pours of the Southeast.
    Good choice!
