I've stayed dry through many downpours with my HG standard with doors with no spray. Pitch it about 6" from the ground and no problems.

I made a winter tarp out of 1.1 silnylon 12feet . long for my 11 foot hammock. And i can pull it down almost to the ground. I would say 4 inches from the ground no cat cut! Have not had a chance to try it out yeat planing on doing so this winter.
Alright, 1st hang down with the HG standard with doors... It was around freezing, but not windy and no precip, ended up double hanging with someone who had less-warm gear so I snuggled up underneath him. It worked great! Wasn't able to hunker the tarp down with two of us stacked, and my butt would have been in the wind if we had had any. I think for just me though, there's plenty of coverage and pitching low to the ground with the doors closed it could be as good shelter as a tent. It seemed to trap a couple degrees of heat even pitched a foot or so off the ground.
Love my dutch bling, I used two wasps for the non-continuous ridgeline, and tried out both fleas and worms for the tie outs. Decided worms were too finicky with gloves on, I'll stick with the fleas. Decided I don't really need the door hooks I bought either, simple line and a slipknot work faster and easier with more adjustment. IMAG0039.jpg
One of my co-workers told me I have more money than sense but hey, its a sweet setup.
