    Before Packing the BlackBird

Several times I've had the bungee tie out for the BlackBird slip through the ring during packing or unpacking and be temporarily lost. Now, before packing it away, I tie a half hitch in it at the ring so that this won't happen again. Just thought I'd pass this along.

Good idea. I've had multiple occasions where the two bungees become tangled with each other and make a big mess. Now I put the zipper side tie out inside the hammock before packing so that they can't tangle with each other.

Here is what I came up with to deal with this issue on our BlackBirds.

On the shelf tie out I ran the elastic through the spring loaded holder, out to the ring and back through the spring loaded holder. For extra credit I added a stopper knot after the final exit. This allows one hand adjustment and can never accidentally come off.

For the front tie out I did the same but also added the Blue Mini Biner so that I can disconnect it completely when I want to toss the bug screen over the ridge line.

    Cheers,
    Darrel

i like the one inside the hammock and one outside the hammock, that should keep them from tangleing each other

I once setup the BB in the dark and I launched my aluminum ground stake into the black by over stretching the shock cord. I was amazed at how far it flew.

Great idea Darrel! I'll have to do that to mine as well.

I'm up to 24 nights in a WBBB and have yet to use either tie out...never did in an HH either...but your solution looks keen.

Me too. When packing up I just put them both inside the hammock and zip it closed. Less tangling when setting up next time. But Darrel's mod is very cool!
