Is there anyone out there that offers sleeping bag to TQ conversion services?

I own a lot of sleeping bags that are just wasting space in my house.
I have decided I should have my sleeping bags converted into top quilts, rather than just using them partially unzipped.
I don't own a sewing machine so I need to find a source to have the labor done.
    Can anyone advice me?

Check your local sewing shop for recommendations. You are to be able to find someone locally that you can work with hands on to get the project done for you. Would certainly save on shipping costs, and you have much more oversight as to what was happening.
I've gone to find myself. If I get back before I return, make sure I stay here.

What changes do you want to make and why?
I prefer the extra width of a sleeping bag so that's not an issue for me. It might be for you. Some folks are concerned the zipper might damage the hammock. Not a concern for me but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be for you. If you want to change the width, that's a significant job without a machine. If you want to take out the zipper check how it is put in. If it sits on topn of a seam take a pair of fine scissors and snip the threads to remove it. If it is sewn into a seam and you don't care about saving it, take the same pair of scissors and cut the tape. The teeth come off and you are free and clear.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

Ditto on sewing shop. I've had 2 mummy bags altered into TQs. Trimmed the hood, removed the zippers. I shopped around because the prices varied greatly.
Some didn't have an understanding of the baffles, maybe others just didn't want to take on the the project.
    Good luck

±1 for that idea I have a 10degree mummy style bag that I made from a Frostline , (Broomfield Co.) kit in 1982 that is still quite serviceable. I've already been using it as a TQ to my great satisfaction. Hadn't even thought about checking to see if the zipper could be safely removed until this post.

I only wish to remove the zipper and hood.

Edit: I think I will give this a try first and then go from there.
