Thanks, I found this "stuff" at Hobby Lobby, it was 1/8 braided elastic, I doubled it. I will be "shocked" if it survives the night. I will get over to west marine tomorrow and use a heavier shock cord. My first hammock DIY... Photo is not so good, had to bargain down the digi camp PL to $23. It looks a LOT better than I thought it would, I will definitely be converting to a sewn PLUQ, but I need a couple weeks b4 things slow down.
carry climbing gear this is Louisiana, our climbing is horizontal....

    Thanks Dejoha!

Slept in it last nite, nice and cozy, it only got down to about 60. I will try it again Sunday, should get down into the mid 50's worked great, took some minor repositioning after a shift the hammock position but was easily accomplished without getting out. I am sure it was mostly due to my crappy suspension...to be updated soon!

    Thanks again.

You can also fold it the other way to make it a full length. Thats what I did

I am using a couple patch pairs of velcro to hold the lengthwise accessory cord firmly in position while attempting to have the two layers hang separate just a bit for more air insulation space - plus still maintain the whole open rectangular blanket function.

Just an FYI: I used my no-sew PLUQ on my RidgeRunner over the weekend to enhance my KAQ Lost River (partial UQ)

I'm a cold sleeper, and it got down to 28 degrees... I was warm! I LOVE MY PLUQ!

This is what I did, and I found that it was plenty long, but bloody narrow. Cold shoulders are the worst.
I used to be a somebody, now I just camp.

I just made one of these last night. It's my first under quilt ( have used cc and self inflating pads for a while now) and I much prefer laying right in my hammock. The coverage is surprisingly larger than I was expecting. Thought it would be shoulder to knee- ish but its more like neck to ankle. It's currently 60 in my back yard and windy. Hung for about 20 minutes without the pluq and then I set it up and have been in it for about the same amount of time. My cold butt, back and shoulders are now pretty toasty. I need to work on cinching up the end tighter close to my shoulders and I need to figure out how to close up the open side. The poncho liner I got did not have as many ties as the picture shown so that side needs a little help. All in all I'm pretty stoked. The over night low is supposed to be 47, so I guess I will have my chance to see how well my first UQ works.

Which set of instructions did you use? If you look below the first post there's an updated set.

This hangs much better, and had cord running along the long edge. If the cord on the "open side" is run through the hem of the bottom layer, it pulls up tighter than the top layer and prevents the UQ from opening between the layers....if that makes sense...

I used the second. The loose side slips down inside underneath me if that makes sense.
