    Made alot of changes today

After doing too much reading here Friday, I pretty much redid my tarp setup yesterday. I decided to try the single ridge line over the tarp with the prussics. WOW! This setup is so simple, I cant wait to put it to use when it's windy. I went with a mini-biner on a bowline on the solid end, with a figure 9 on the other. I'm going to put the figure 9 on a prussic as well. Plus I added the o-ring tensioner mod to my guyline d-rings. I also put figure 9's on the pullcords on my groundhogs. We had alot of rain and a little wind overnight. I just went out to take it down and everything is still tight. I think I'm liking this setup. One question I have though. For my ridgeline I'm using Samson 3mm solid braid polyester rope. Does anyone else use anything similar, or is this overkill? The prussics are made from the same rope. Will they slip with heavy winds? And a BIG THANKS for all the help I've gotten from you all. GREAT FORUM

I use BlueWater 3mm NiteLine Utility Cord. It's reflective like the Kelty TripTease stuff.

I have the Bluewater 3mm for the ridgeline and the Kelty TripTease for the prusiks, since it's a smaller diameter. (I love that reflective stuff)
It gets its first test next weekend.

I am currently using 550 paracord for both my line and my prussics. They seem to hold really well as the paracord is pretty grippy and I can't even make them slip by pulling as hard as I can.

I use the figure 9 as well, but haven't thought about using it as one attachment for the tarp... I just put 2 prussics on with cheapy biners but I may have to see if I can remove one prussic and just attach one side to the figure 9. Thanks for the idea and I'll try it out when I get my new tarp for Xmas!

3 mm or smaller is good.

I use either 3 mm or 1.75 mm dyneema guy line (Lash-It) and the 1.75 mm for the Prussics on both. Many times we take 50 ft of the 3 mm as an emergency rope and it serves also then as the tarp ridge line. If I don't take the emergency rope, then I use the 1.75 mm guy line for the ridge line.
