Tear repair on HG CF tarp with doors

On about my 4th use of this tarp, I was laying in my hammock and I noticed a short line that almost appeared to be a thin spot in the CF material. I reached up and pressed on it, and it ripped into a tear about 3/4" of an inch long. I placed a small strip of gorilla tape on the area inside and out, which has held. I was disappointed to have an issue like this so soon after dropping so much money on a CF tarp. Anyway, I never think about this until I am in the woods and see the tape. I found a circle of CF material HG sent with the tarp for repairs. How do I adhere this for the repair? Should I do so on the outside of the tarp?

I do my repairs on the outside, but that's just me. I also use a large craft hole punch to punch out a perfect shape for the repair.

We haven't had to do very many repairs of our tarps, but send it back, we'll repair it for free.

I keep some cuben repair tape one hand just in case one of my cuben tarps does develop a tear. Figured that as long as I have the repair tape I will not need it but if I did not have it then I would.

Mine had a hole put in it while at Scout Land in GA. It was a little bigger than my thumb and looks to have been made by a stick, though no stick was hung up in in or around the tarp.

I sent the tarp back to HG and they did a fantastic job of patching it and I have had no problems with it since, and it has been about 2 years now and a few heavy rains since then.
