    Costco Throw thread pulling pattern

I've been really impressed with the results folks have had by "thread pulling" on the Costco Throw. I had also been very impressed with the zigzag pattern being used by the folks at LocoLibre for their quilts when I saw their stuff at the last couple of hangs.
So I tossed this together last night as a suggestion if anybody wanted to try it.

The idea is to duplicate that zigzag utility so the down will shift less, but can still be fluffed toward the center where it is most needed.
The only downside that I can see here is the possibility that all of the remaining stitching might have to be resewn to prevent unraveling.
....If it works out, just call it the "Flash Mod".

I don't have an extra throw, or a Costco membership, or I would probably try this out for a top-quilt myself.
[the throws were actually still in the stock down in Massachusetts the other day, and I went a half an hour out of my way to purchase some, but they wouldn't give me guest privileges to buy a couple]

I would be very concerned with this approach, as you are ripping every thread in one area or another. In order to fix the situation, you are required to resew the entire quilt in this formation. THat seems like a lot of work, not to mention expanding the weakness of this throw, being that it is sewn through, and now you you are sewing it more. I also would be very concerned of mess ups, and sewing more down, trapping it beneath the threads.

I am not trying to poo poo all over your idea, but having played and ripped these throws, these are just the concerns I believe with doing this. I almost think at this point, you might as well just make a true UQ from scratch with the right baffling.
However, I could be wrong and I am curious if others think the reward outweighs the risk. Besides, YMMV and HYOH, right? I do love how much we are finding to do with these throws.

Thanks, pinball... see that's what I don't know.
    Effort vs.reward.
I don't sew so I don't know what is feasible.

I do like those LocoLibres though.

It could be as simple as tying the loose ends of the cut sections on the quilt parts if you can carefully pull the threads out.... if not, then re-sewing is likely the only way around it..by that point, you might be better off ripping all the seams, and then stuff it with extra down (more loft and stuff!) then sew it in the zig-zag pattern

EDIT; the Costco Down UQ I made, made use of hand-sewing to connect the two throws together in a triple layer set up, in order to have the best chance of lofting, while the cinch channels are machine sewn.
