In addition to being a hanging addict, I am an avid geocacher (www.Geocaching.com). In a nut shell, people hide containers (geocache) and post the GPS coordinates online and other geocachers try to find them. Think of it as 'using million dollar satellites to find Tupperware hidden in the woods'.
Geocaching .com has events called CITOs (Cache In-Trash Out). The event host coordinates with the location manager, usually a park manager, to provide labor in helping to clean (trash pick-up) a given area.
For those who have coordinated group hangs in parks, what are your thoughts on using this type of event to build solid relationships with those parks leery of hammock hangers?
