Double Whoopie Hook with Different Hammocks

My wife and I have been using a double whoopie hook setup recently with our 2 eno hammocks and we love it. I have a double nest and she has a single nest. She really likes her hammock and I think it fits her well because she's only 5'2" , but I've been thinking of trying one of Dutch's 11 foot hammocks to see if it's more comfortable for me at 6'0". My question is whether its possible to use the double whoopie hook system with 2 hammocks of different lengths. I'm assuming as long as the head end suspension is the same length, it would work, but I'm not sure.

    Has anyone tried this?

Here's a picture of our current set up on a day hike the other day. (The day my wife agreed to us both getting incubator 20s I was an extremely happy man)

my wife has a dutch argon and kid has one of the eno with the bug net ? forgot the name but they are dif lengths and works fine we just make the head end match

I think same length would be a touch easier because of the height difference and angles but again its not a huge deal but is not perfect
have to take pics next time

My wife has a 9.5 foot hammock and I have a 10.5 foot hammock and use spreader bars at the head end. It's a bit more work to finagle, but totally doable.

I'm in. Your setup looks like a dream! Classy. For those of you who are using this setup did you upgrade the straps? How are regular straps holding up with regular use? Combined weight would be about 350 for us.

Dutch recommends aligning the head ends (the end with the spreader bar) so that they are both the same distance from the tree if the hammocks are different lengths. I imagine that puts less stress on the bar itself.

It's also recommended for each hammock to use it's own suspension, and therefore their own straps. From the pic it looks like they are connected to the same straps, but both straps are just positioned on top of each other. In fact, each strap is positioned on either side of the tree (the red whoopie on the left of the trunk, the black whoopie on the right of the trunk.

Thanks, Dutch! I don't think I would have ever gotten my wife into hammock camping if it weren't for your double whoopie hooks! Her main concern was not being close enough when we sleep. She loves this setup almost as much as I do!

Have a set of these on the way, trying to stay under one tarp, and wife wanted to be close as well. So our second season of hammock camping will be with them.

Is everyone using really big tarps for this? I have it in my head that I need one of those giant winter tarps, but we don't sleep out in winter, well not yet anyway.
