Does anyone have any pictures, of the HH tarp tied to a tree?

If you go into the tarp section of the gallery there should be plenty of pics of tarps tied in different ways. If you don't find what you're looking for there, though, just browse through the rest of the gallery to see if there might be a pic in another section that illustrates what you're looking for.

Or do you mean a picture of the knot/attachment between the hammock and the tree? Pretty sure there are some of those on Just Jeff's site.

There is a video on the hh site of the knot, at least that is what I hear here.

As for the tarp I just go around the tree and tie a couple of half hitch slip knots. I tied up the stcok tarp once like that, it worked better but was still too small for my needs. I switched to a McCat deluxe.

Jen....forget about tying your tarp and use these guyline tensioners from REI instead. http://www.rei.com/product/609110

They are sooooo much easier than tying a knot. I use them on both my tarp and the lines that suspend the netting on my Claytor Jungle Hammock. It is way more convenient. Combine them with the "ring system" of suspending your hammock and you'll be pretty much knot free.

I don't see a strength rating on those...tarp lines (especially the ridge ties) can have a LOT of tension on them in high winds. Just something to think about.

My hammock doesn't have a ridgeline. I only use them with my tarp and the lines that suspend my netting. I supose you could also use them for tarp tieouts to the ground but I haven't found that to be necessary.

I suppose in extreme wind conditions I might revert back to using a knot....but that would be rare.
