Anyone hiked the butterfield in Devils den state park? I'm planning a trip there next spring with my son and brother...it will be all of our first hike/camp adventure. Just curious if there is anything I need to be aware of there or stay away from? Lol

Just saw this thread, and that nobody has responded. I've not hiked it personally, although I have a number of friends who have. I have a trip planned for next month to hike it with two of my kids, along with a couple friends and theirs.
We got our dates set for April 22-24th.

Nice! We're going earlier - March 11-13. We may experience some showers, good time to test gear! My son (11 and tough as nails) went on a backpacking trip with me, my daughter (13) has never been, although we've done some car camping. I've already started working with them on some things to get them prepped. And they took it upon themselves to take 3 mile hikes a couple times a week with their backpacks loaded with bricks (their idea completely). I'm looking forward to getting them out in the woods. And me, of course!
Me and some buddies are going to hike the Butterfield trail this fall. It'll be our first time on this trail as well. How was your trip? Any suggestions/tips for our trip?
