Help building hammock stand: 3rd world country and a short truck bed

Greetings! I've been digging around looking at hammock stands for a while, and it's a bit overwhelming. I'm trying to find some simple plans that would allow me to take my hammock stand with me in the back of my '03 Tacoma's short bed on back country trips in SE Asia.

I brought my WBBB and a few WB tarps (super fly and a smaller one). I also have my son's HH Cub that I want to make a stand for as well. I'm 6'3"/210 if that matters.

I don't have access to the fencing material that people are using for the top rail, but bamboo is abundant here. But, I need it to fit in my truckbed WITH the bedcover closed. I'll be transporting my gear and supplies through some nasty conditions and want to keep it dry.

I do plan on getting a roof rack, but some of the roads/trails are quite tight, so would prefer to have them out of the way.

I do have access to cheap metal fabrication. I won't be using these except when I'm out with my truck, so weight really isn't an issue. But I will often have a lot of other gear with me, so I want to be careful about overall size.

Thanks for helping me narrow down the options! If I can provide any more info I'd be happy too!

Edited to add: I'll mostly be on open fields without trees or where the jungle doesn't work well with a hammock. I want to stay close to the others I'll be traveling with. I want to be as LNT as possible, so hacking my way into the bush to set up my hammock isn't something I really want to do.

If you can hack bamboo--you can cut 7 bamboo poles. Lash 3 poles into a tripod on each end and a ridge pole connecting the two tripods. The bottom ends can be in shallow holes and maybe staked or not staked.
To lash a tripod Indian style: place two poles side by side on the ground. Tie a secure knot around third pole a foot or more from the top end and place it on top of the other two poles at an angle. Then wrap all three poles with the rope about three times around all three poles. Stand them up and rotate the bottom pole out and around until the tripod locks.
I'm sorry I have no pictures. This is an extremely fast tripod set up. I found it in a book on Indian Tipi by Reginald and Gladys Lauben . I hope I spelled their name correctly as its all from memory.
But this is not exactly LNT--on the other hand bamboo grows back real fast in the tropics. Good luck peripatew.

I really think pictures are needed to explain this simple lashing technique--it is not the cumbersome slow technique shown in Scouting handbooks. If some one has pictures of this Indian style tripod lashing it would explain it better than my limited words.

i know you said you don't have access to fence railing, but i don't think i've really seen any DIY hammock stands that can pack down as small as you can with fence railing. in this post (here) i created a spurtle stand that can pack down into a small rifle case that weighs about 25lbs total. the rest of the page has build info: https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...-Spurtle-Stand

if there's anything that can be packed down that small or smaller, i'd love to know too!
