Yeah BB, you bring up another reason to ditch the stock tarp, WIND NOISE. After I got my Macat my daughter was using my stock tarp one windy night, the flapping was keeping ME awake, about 25 ft away, needless to say, she didn't get much rest.

I think there was at least one other... anyway, send it to me when you find a larger tarp! I want one for a gear tarp.

Regarding noise... just look at Sulman's picture and you can see why. It is difficult to eliminate the looseness in the ridge.

U didn't see me up hiding on the hillside. I had a stock HH tarp and it was fine.
But now I have a JRB tarp and can't wait to try it.

I tie it straight down when I know the wind is going to be flapping. Then I don't notice any flapping noise at least.

Well Crash if you were also out there with the stock HH tarp, then you're alright by me.
