    Hennessey Asym Ground Setup

After finding a pitch for the Hex that I liked, I decided to take a stab at the stock asym tarp. The only ground pitch I've seen is basically a normal tree pitch configuation dropped to the ground and suspended with hiking poles. This setup doesn't provide much side protection.

A few weeks ago I had to make a last minute ground setup. Basically an A frame, back & side tie-outs staked to the ground and the front supported by a pole. Better, but still leaves one side exposed.

So, I came up with another pitch (on paper) that uses two poles and provides better coverage. I don't know how much interior room it's actually going to provide, won't know until I pitch it for real.

It's going to require one additional tie-out for the beak, which is located at the mid of the front short side. The interior pole is located at the mid of the ridge line.

I think I like this better. Two poles, 6 stakes. Poles are outside, both ends close up. Requires two additional tie-outs to be added.

Ridgeline is 87 inches. 58 inches for floor length? Okay, maybe this is too small.

So, I came up with another ground pitch for the asym tarp. It's a bit tight in space, but I think with a tubbed floor it might work. I certainly wouldn't plan on doing this, but rather knowing that I could if I had too.
