My son, Scott, and I did a 11.5 mile hike in the Great Smokies; it was a loop including Cooper Creek, Deeplow Gap, Mingus Creek, Newton Bald, and Thomas Divide trails. After climbing 2,500' in elevation we decided to string up some hammocks at lunch time; Scott took a nap for a bit. It was a warm, sunny day there in North Carolina. Love the sound of swishing leaves rather than standing in line at a store somewhere.

Not exactly on Black Friday, but Big_Country and I headed out Saturday morning to Green Swamp for a nice overnighter. Any time in the woods is time well spent!
