    replacing bb suspension??

i am thinking of changining the suspension on my bb but cant tell how the current suspension is tied on and how the ridgeline is attached. how is the current suspension tied and what is the best method to reatach new suspension? is the ridgeline part of or attached to the suspension and will removing the suspension affect the ridgeline?

I think if you larks head your new suspension onto each end then you simply remove the old suspension larks head and you are done.
Predictions are risky, especially when it comes to the future.

My suspension has teh ridgeline wrapeed around it so the suspension holds teh ridgeline. Also I think there is a thin black cord that pulls the channel together and it may be around the suspension. So try pulling the suspension line back throught the ridgeline loop. If the black line is around the suspension (I don't think it is though, but I had mine undone so I'm not sure anymore), untie it without pulling it out of the channel and the suspension should be free. Don't let that ridgeline go into the hammock and make sure it goes around the new suspension.

The ridgeline goes through the whipping and loops around the suspension cord. Your BB suspension ought to look something like this -

To remove it, pull on the little loop to loosen the ridgeline's hold on the suspension cord. It will then look like -

Then, it's just a matter of undoing the lark's head behind the whipping...

When you put your new suspension on, be sure that the ridgeline loop surrounds it before you put any tension on it.

As angrysparrow demonstrated, it's really easy. The only scary part is starting.

Changing suspensions doesn't 'mess up' anything.

Just imagine the ring in the photo as being the fabric of the hammock...
