    Move over Duct Tape!

Sewing in baffles for a new TQ and I decided to finaly try using painters tape to help keep everything in place. WOW, so much better!

If you are like my former self (for no good reason reluctant to try the blue tape) give it a whirl, it changes everything!

I'm having trouble visualizing how that works, taping the baffle down. I 'm guessing the edge of the tape is your stitch guide line? There's gotta be a thread on this somewhere so time to go hunting.

I personally only use the tape for cutting my baffles. I lay nice long strips of my desired width across the entire fabric. it gives me nice straight clean cuts of the mesh material. But I remove the tape before sewing.

This is what workes for me. Just enough pins to place the baffle then tape the edge of the fold right next to the sew line. For me it keeps the baffel from moving/stretching and additionally stiffens the material making it behave much better in my thread injector.

I've sewn two modified KARO baffle UQs and definitely used blue painters tape on the mesh, both to keep it from stretching and as a guideline for sewing. Have also used it for other projects for cutting long straight lines on mesh and rip-stop and silnylon. Very handy stuff.
