Side question? I've got an ENO, putting Whoopies in this weekend. Does it matter where the ridgeline connects to suspension in order to achieve the 83%?

I was going to attach close to gathered end.

Similar question... what if me ridgeline was connected to my caribiners, which are about a ft further on either end of my hammock? would I add 2ft to the total length?

I wasn't there when someone came up with 83%, but i think it's safe to assume that the 30* hang angle was found to be comfortable before SRL's were used and therefore 83% simply worked out to be the corresponding SRL length.

Calculate 83% of the length between the points you will be connecting the SRL to.
