Seems like I read 600#.
Also how long for each end. I was figuring 12-15' each end.

I looked at harbor freight, but all they had were lighter ratchet straps 12' long. Thought I might be better off with a length of strap.
Walmart did not have anything I could find, unless it was in another department.
West Marine has polypropylene webbing but for too much money. Ed Speer's price is much better, even if you factor in shipping.
Polyester is just a bit heavier and a bit more expensive (not much) but is super strong and doesn't stretch. Very nice stuff, I made 4 tree huggers from a 30' piece.
I've gotten polyester 1 inch ratched straps at WalMart. Back of store in automotive towing. By Cequent. I even called company to verify they were polyester. The strap is 14 feet long and costs $7.

Harbor Freight - if you don't mind yellow.
Their 1"x12' ratchet straps - 2 per package. 1200 lbs, polyester. The lightest straps I have tested.
Just cut off the hooks and ratchets and you're good to go.

you'll feel that you need longer than 12' but in reality, you'll rarely, if ever, get all the way out to the ends of them. i second teedee's suggestion at harbor freight
I got West Marine to match online pricing for Amsteel. I told the guy, "Look you've got it, I need it, but you are just too damned high. I can get it online for .39, you want .99. I know I have to pay shipping and all but you are just too high." He countered for .45 per foot. I bought. The only ones I see at Harbor freight are rated at 500#.
Harbor Freight does have higher breaking strength poly webbing.
Make sure you are looking at the rating for breaking strength and not the working load.

IR 200lbs and ive been using homedepot ratchet straps for 1yr now. Works well. I cut the hook off and use 'dutch clip'.
alot of the walmarts are getting rid of the sewing section i hear.. my local one is. i was able to buy up all of the strapping at dirt cheap prices.
