I have one and I can sleep on my back, sides and stomach. Best hammock I have slept in for now.

There are times that the only way you can do something is to do it alone.
That's good to hear. What size spreaders bars did you use?
I built one also, and it is very versatile in terms of sleep positions. I stuck with the 36" spreaders, and it works well. I just finished adding the bugnet, and although it will win no awards, it seems to work so far.
Mine feels a little tight an constricting (i'm 6' & 170). I'm thinking that I will increase the dimensions of the width and use 42" spreader bars.
I am researching the Hikerdad Bridge hammock now and plan to make soon. I am 6-2, 220 so i may need to look into making it bigger. Let me know how much bigger you make yours Speter311. thx
I am 6' 1" at 220, and the base design works well for me. Your choice of materials can matter too. I used 1.9oz Nylon. YMMV.
Be cautious if you plan to increase the spreader bar length, you will be putting alot more compression on the bars if you do not also lengthen the suspension triangles. As is, the system is @11'. You may also want to consider how the wider hammock would fit under your rainfly when you have to tuck-in for weather.
Guys - for you that have made this design already, what UQ are you using? Can I use a standard UQ I would use for a gathered end hammock? That was my main concern when looking at a WB Ridgerunner - I didn't want to have to buy a new UQ specifically for that hammock.
Thanks,
Norm

UQ for this design was a bit challenging for me. One of the reasons I made this hammock was a result of my failure in making my first UQ that did not fit my WBBB very well. I narrowed that UQ to 36 inches and it now fits this bridge like a glove. Traditional UQ's would be challenging to fit well to this shallower bridge design.
Yeah, that's my concern. Hmm...really want to give a bridge a go, but have no desire to buy or make another UQ (my least favorite DIY, ever!). May need to just go ahead and make it and see what i can make work with my current UQ armada.
Thanks Irish.
