New underquilt

About 20 years ago I did have a play with making some kayak tow lines and throw line bags. Just simple short lines. I find making the quilts easier than making stuff sacs. I use a singer 5700 machine. It's a basic model but is great for lightweight fabrics.

Number 3 lives !

Found some really nice black 1.1 ripstop. Really nice to work with. Also using some new "coats" thread. 100% Polyester, super strong.

Just waiting on some siberian goose down to arrive!

Guess you can say I am currently reformed. Anyone else take sewing class in Jr High? Remember ALTRA and Frostline? I feel a relapse coming on!

Very nice quilts, Unsponsored! Does No. 3 have baffles, or is it sewn through like the other two? I'm really digging the look of Pertex!

Still sewn through.

I'm finding that the fabric is still air tight and channels of warm air are created with the sewn through baffles when hung on the hammock.

What's your sense of temperature rating on the sewn-thru quilts? They seem to have plenty of down, so the seams are most likely the limiting factor, correct? Freezing? Lower?

I've been down to 3/4 deg C with no issue.
