Summer is coming in nicely down in NZ, getting my camping setup sorted!

A couple more fortnightly paypackets time I should have just about everything I need for camping - I will have to get out and enjoy the hell out of this summer here in New Zealand!

I have my WBBB XLC, just need to unclip it from my eye bolts in my bedroom and stuff it into its sack.
I have a Hammock Gear UQ, but will be leaving that for colder weather, my PLUQ is more than enough for summer camping.
I have ordered an underquilt protector from 2QZQ, I'll try that without the PLUQ for warm weather sleeping.
I just got an E-Mail from WB, my Superfly tarp is now on the way!
For a TQ I've been thinking of taking 2 options - a cotton sheet & a poncho liner, my down sleeping bag is too hot for summer time.
I have 2 adjustable tarp poles from REI as well as a Handy Hammock stand that I can take - I'm hanging even if there are no trees, though I should be able to at least find 1 tree for 1 end of my setup.
I've got some good stuff on the way from Dutch, including a pole mod for my Superfly tarp.

This should all go well with my camping vehicle (Suzuki DR650):

    My Handy Hammock stand:

I now have side racks and a pair of Nelson Rigg saddle bags as well as a really huge 110 litre roll-top duffel that straps to the rear rack, I believe there should be enough room for all that I want to take camping.
I am looking at 2 new tyres for the camping vehicle but other than that I'm fairly well set.

Next step - plan some trips and remember to take plenty of photos to share with everyone.

Oh yah...Moto camping rocks. Looking forward to seeing what New Zealand has via your reports and pics
I'm rolling on either the 89 Yamaha DT200R or the 05 KTM300EXC or the Sherco 2.9 Trials
Already planning a late March 5 day Moto camp play period as I further explore new Trails & Trials play areas in the Southern Interior of BC
I stuff my camping gear into a 60l back pack and strike off....I hate attaching things to the bike as the single track trails with jumping trees can dislodge me or gear
Life is too Short to not feed the addiction....Hang on and explore the World

Now that my stuff from Dutch and my Superfly have arrived I went for a ride to test out my setup, and of course to go for a ride.

    Bike loaded up:

Unloaded bike and setup my WB BB XLC & WB SF:

This is better than being at work!

Had a quiet evening and a decent sleep overnight. I liked trying out the porch mode, so much room under the tarp setup like that.
This was in the middle of nowhere with no cell phone coverage, it made for a very relaxing evening.

Nice setup! I use a polarfleece sleepingbag liner for warm weather camping here in Texas. Looking forward to your trip reports as well. That is a beautiful part of the world there!

After camping in the middle of nowhere I decided to go for a ride to the middle of somewhere: The Geographical Centre of the North Island of NZ.

Walked in to see the survey marker:

Then rode off to a (not particularly nearby) campsite:

There was a lot of wind from the side the bike was parked on, setup porch mode facing the other way.
In the middle of the night I went for a leak, wow, the night sky is beautiful when well away from any light pollution, so many stars!
