My first few times I was nervous, anymore I just walk as though I have a purpose. "Yea, I sew, you have a problem with that?" I've always found that people in fabric stores aren't the ones that give you looks (if anything they respect you for having the guts to do it) its the people outside the store (or the other guys in the store).
