Yes - I found the prices to vary also. The cheapest I found was Blue Ridge Arborists.

They have the lowest price I saw for the 2400' spool also. If you could get together 12 others that would split it at 200' each, that would bring the price per foot to only $0.13/ft - 200' that they sell for $32.25 would come down to $26.00. That much would make it worthwhile even for the double shipping.

I've found that Lash-It and Zing-It hold the knots I use very well. Mainly bowline loops, Prussics, half hitches, Marlon Spike Hitches and Pile Hitches. The last two are rope to solid objects, but the first 3 are Zing-It/Lash-It to Zing-It/Lash-It. I sometimes have to struggle to get Prussics to slide - Lash-It on Lash-It.

Of course the coating that Samson uses is different from that New England Ropes uses, but I assume for now that both probably work equally well.

Yeah, I saw that 2400' spool at blueridge Arborists also, and thought the same thing about 11 other people helping out to lower the price.

I'll check again to see what I have... I'm pretty sure it's "Zing-It". Came from an arborist supplier.. It's bright yellow and slicker than, well, it's very slick. I've not used it for too many things because it is so slick, but maybe it will hold better when pulled tighter than I have pulled it. It's good stuff, I'm sure, but, I just don't know how to use it. I have a large spool, but it's not for sale... I'm ready when its use comes into focus.

If you decide to go for a group buy at 200' each, I'm in for another 200'.

I haven't done a splice yet, but since it is 12 strand braided, I assume it will splice just like any other 12 strand braided.

Okay - I pulled out my splicing needle and spliced a fixed eye on one end.

Splices easy. You have to account for the fact that it is 2 mm diameter and hence you will need a smaller needle than what I think most use. I use the same needle for 3 mm and less. Works fine.

And yes it will dull a knife quickly - just confirmed that also.

If we could get a 2400' spool group buy, I would be up for 200' myself, also.
Do you think that there is any interest in that? Or do you think that we would be better off to wait and see what Paul can do, and just order through his store?
I am in the market for this type of line for guy line tie outs and other DIY stuff. I most def. like the idea that you can splice it.

I will keep working on New England, I think I would be able to pull off a better price than that, if my math on normal margins is any were close to what they are running on spools.
