    Yes it's a good one, I have three of these and with the 1.2amp motor it's great. Clean it and oil it up and not will last a long time. The reverse button on this machine is prone to break. I see a lot of them in thrift stores that are broken.

    @BornOnTheBayou - you will like that Kenmore a lot. My second purchase was a Kenmore very similar to yours and I find it very reliable and very powerful.

    Check you local community/tech college and see it they offer sewing classes. I was the first male to take the sewing class at my local community college. When I showed up the instructor said all she had were girlie fabrics for the class. Told her I came prepared and pulled out a roll of camo ripstop.
