    New hammock concept?

    Guys and Gals!
There is a new hammock design in town! Check this out http://www.australianheritagefleet.c...v/Hammock.html ! I just got this from yahoo!hammock camping group. Quite intersting idea. Will somebody try this concept? I am currently on another project (hammock stand) so i could not spare some time on it. A report would be nice too!

It would be nice if somebody can come with the idea how to put a bugnet on it!

Im really curious about this claim that a no-sag Hammock is much comfortable to an HH, Speer, or claytor? Anyone tried the JRB hammock yet? How does it feel? I hope nobody patents this concept or has JRB done it already?

The JRB version appears to sag in the middle. I dont think it is similar to the ausie hammock.

the jrb, the australian one and the bat hammock are all based on very similar concepts. it sounded like jrb had started the patent process, of course this may be just to protect themselves from tom. it will be interesting to see if this new style takes off. by the way the jrb had a very very slight concave...Brandon

from what i remember the jacks saying about the patent, they aren't concerned at all about some of the DIY people making one. matter a fact they said that would just allow more people to see it & maybe they would just want to buy one. kinda like advertisement. ...tim

Good to hear that. I think that too they might be interested to see other people's take on it and see if they could use that to improve theirs.
Is that too much to ask? Girls with frikkin' lasers on their heads?

What were JRB using a spreader bars? I guess the bars have to be pretty strong in a hammock like this. I can see from the picture of the lady lying in the hammock where the comments about the JRB having shoulder squeeze came from. It does look tight in the shoulder area.

I think the only way to solve the shoulder squeeze in this situation is a wider hammock and/or wider spreader bar.
