I decided to try and eliminate the last issue I had with hammocking...a small amount of shoulder squeeze. I had a rather small ripstop nylon hammock I had been using, and while very comfortable, it did seem cramped at times. I spent less than $30 on 4 yards of green HyperD (not Hexon, my mistake) 1.6 72" wide fabric. If you haven't heard, they are adding in free thread with purchases for now. I was unaware until I ordered. Nice surprise! I also got some 7/64" amsteel to make a couple whoopies and a ridge line.

I decided it needed a knotty mod instead of a foot box. I love this mod. I can still sit in it like a porch swing, but I have all the advantages of my old foot box.

Here it is compared to my UGQ Full length UQ.

Slept in it for the first time last night. The extra width and length really help. Amazing comfort! I didn't bother weighing it yet. I'm sure it would horrify most back-packers, but really, compared to the heavy-duty ripstop of my old hammock, I don't think it compares badly!
If anyone is wondering if the extra width matters, the answer is yes! Makes me wonder, though, if anyone has tried a more trapezoidal shape to eliminate a little fabric.
